Fly Locker Room ("we," "us," or "our") operates the online store at shop.theflyacademy.org (the "Site") as the official apparel shop of The Fly Academy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you visit our Site, place an order, or otherwise interact with us.
By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that helps us fulfill your orders, operate our store, and provide a quality customer experience. The categories of information we collect include:
Information You Provide Directly
- Contact information: your name, email address, shipping address, and billing address
- Order and personalization details: items you purchase, sizes, colors, and personalization content you submit (including player numbers, last names, and design choices)
- Payment information: processed securely by Shopify's payment system; we do not store your credit card or banking information
- Communications: the content of any emails, messages, or support requests you send us
Information Collected Automatically
- Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
- Site usage information: pages viewed, time spent on pages, referring website, and navigation patterns
- Cookies and similar technologies: used to keep your cart session active, remember your preferences, and measure site performance
Information Collected Through Integrated Services
Our Site uses the following third-party services that may collect or process information on our behalf:
- Shopify — hosts our storefront, processes payments, and manages customer accounts
- Printful — produces and ships your custom-printed items
- Teeinblue — powers the product personalization tool on our product pages
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information for the following purposes:
- Fulfill your orders: process payments, produce your custom items, coordinate shipping, and provide order confirmations and tracking updates
- Customer service: respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and communicate about your orders
- Operate and improve the Site: monitor site performance, prevent fraud, and enhance the shopping experience
- Comply with legal obligations: meet tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements
- Send occasional updates about Fly Locker Room (only if you opt in) — such as new product launches or Fly Academy team announcements
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not run paid third-party advertising based on your behavior on our site.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only with trusted service providers who help us operate the Site and fulfill your orders. These include:
- Shopify (e-commerce platform and payment processing)
- Printful (print-on-demand production and fulfillment) — receives your shipping address and personalization details in order to produce and ship your order
- Teeinblue (product personalization tool) — processes the customization data you enter on product pages
- Shipping carriers (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx) — receive your shipping address to deliver your order
- Email service providers — deliver transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping notifications)
We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition).
4. Personalization Content and Minors
Because our products are custom apparel for Fly Academy players, personalization details submitted at checkout (such as a player's last name and jersey number) often relate to a youth athlete.
Orders are placed by the parent, guardian, or adult purchaser. By submitting personalization details, you represent that you have the authority to do so on behalf of anyone whose information is included in the personalization (such as your child).
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us at the email below and we will promptly delete it.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to:
- Provide you with the products and services you've ordered
- Comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
Order records are typically retained for seven (7) years to comply with financial recordkeeping requirements. Account information is retained until you request deletion.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal information
- Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law.
For EU/UK Residents
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to object to processing, restrict processing, and data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
For California Residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information is collected, sold, or disclosed, and the right to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for data transmission and partnering with reputable service providers (Shopify, Printful, Teeinblue) that maintain their own security standards.
However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use strong passwords and protect your account credentials.
8. Cookies
Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep your shopping cart active during your session
- Remember your preferences
- Measure Site performance and usage
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some Site functionality (for example, you may not be able to complete a purchase).
9. Third-Party Links
Our Site may contain links to external websites, such as The Fly Academy's main site at theflyacademy.org or sponsor sites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
10. International Data Transfers
Our service providers (including Shopify, Printful, and Teeinblue) may store or process information in the United States or other countries. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer of your information to these jurisdictions, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.
Where required by law, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information during international transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will indicate when the policy was most recently revised. We encourage you to review this policy from time to time.
